Devoted to the Sacred Heart and chairpersons Melinda and Tony Moiso
present the 27th annual Haberdashery Fashion Show. This year’s

May 10, Girls’ Rights Luncheon 2005. The board of trustees of
Girls Incorporated of Orange County hosts the Girls’ Rights Luncheon
2005, featuring chef Jamie Gwen (food correspondent for Fox 11 television)
as a special guest. Girls Incorporated has been a member of the non-profit
community since 1954 and is one of Orange County’s leading agencies
promoting substance-abuse education, personal safety, leadership skills,

tenth-anniversary lecture and reception with Charles Faudree, interior

May 14, The Children of Padre Present “The 16th Annual Fashion
Show.” The Padre Foundation hosts “Celebrating Heroes,”
at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach, with Susan Savage and Susan
Cannon as committee chairpersons. The event features a silent auction,
elegant sit-down dinner, and fashion show. The funds raised benefit
the Padre Foundation, which was founded in 1985 to provide education
and emotional support to children diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes
and their families. The foundation also offers classes on nutrition,

May 14, “Life in Bloom,” Presented by the Susan B. Komen
Breast-Cancer Foundation. Join the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
for a day of education, inspiration, and celebration. The Breast-Health
Seminar and Spring Luncheon takes place at the Wyndham Hotel in Costa
Mesa and will bring together breast-cancer survivors, families, friends,
educators, and advocates. A highlight of the luncheon is a speech by
survivor Jennie Nash as well as other seminars and presentations. The

May 18, SOS Star Team Annual Onion Luncheon. An Orange County tradition
for the past decade, this luncheon will once again honor members of
the Star Team, a support guild of Share Our Selves, which provides food,
medical care, legal aid, clothing, and other assistance to Orange County
residents who live in poverty. The luncheon takes place at Five Crowns
Restaurant in Corona Del Mar. Kathy Thompson, founder of the Star Team,

May 21, The Ronald McDonald House of Orange County Presents the “Betting
on the House” Gala. The Ronald McDonald House of Orange County
celebrates its 15th anniversary with a fun-filled bash—“Betting
on the House.” With a Las Vegas-style action, guests will place
their bets to help raise money for the House to continue caring for
families of sick children in Orange County hospitals. One ticket price
of $200 helps pay for a three-night stay for a family of four at the

May 29, Orange County High School of the Arts’ “Season Finale
2005.” See the next generation of world-class artists take center

June 11, 8th Annual Creans’ Clambake. The Creans’ Clambake
benefits hundreds of abused children throughout Orange County. The event
takes place at the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach and promises to be

benefit Children’s Bureau’s child abuse prevention programs.
